    Best rain gear

Looking to buy a real good set of rain gear, what's the best out there?

There’s gonna be answers from Huk, Gill, Simms, Carhartt, BPS 100mph, Cabelas Guidewear and Frabil. I’m sure I’ve missed some, everyone has their own preference. The real good ones aren’t cheap.

BPS100 works great. Hold up well to washing too.

I own various brands but the most current that I’ve purchased from Duluth Trading Company, great quality and versatile!

I also like my Guidewear. Simms is excellent. Anything Goretex -- the other proprietary materials can be hit or miss. In any event, much of the decision depends on budget. The recommendations rum the gamut from $150 setups to $750 setups.

I like my Guidewear. It's two years old and looks brand new. It's also on sale right now.

I've got the Simms Challenger set and like it, lightweight enough for summer and can layer up under it for winter plus it didnt break the bank. The new Carhartt Storm Defender suit looks appealing.

I have Simms challenger raingear, which I bought because I wanted a lightweight set in addition to my heavier guidewear. Its very comfortable and looks great. however water does seep through it - not overly impressed about that. When I replace my heavy set I had planned on Pro Dry but I will be rethinking that. My Guidewear has been rock solid for years.

I do need a lighter version of rain wear, but have been using BPS 100mph suit for many years, prolly time for a new one as mine is starting to let water soak thru in areas.

No complaints on Cabelas Guidewear. I've been using those for 30 years.

i bought the HUK top of the line bibs and jacket. Steady rain it leaks through the shoulders and I end up soaking a$$ wet. Customer service doesn't answer phone or return calls
