    Spinning Reel Upgrade

So I’ve always run Pflueger Presidents and Supremes and have like them. Recently I’ve snapped two of them on the body between the grip and main reel body (both newest ones I own and presidents) Both of these were panfishing while fighting fish. I’m not here to bash Pflueger, I still feel they provide a good product.
I’m looking for something more refined and I’ve been playing with either a Shimano Stradic Ci4 or Diawa Ballistic. I’m not loyal to a team I own all the major brands. Looking to replace the broken ones and also upgrade a couple bass rods.
Is this Chevy/Ford/Dodge?? Is there advantages??

All i use are pflueger supremes, and have caught "literally" thousands of 4lb+ smallmouth on them, and they have been bullet proof!

I have a couple of Presidents never had that kind of failure. I had some Okumas that did it, and I took them back. That was 15 years ago or more.

The only spinning reels I use are the Pflueger Patriarch... I have been very happy with them. Super light and never once gave me a problem. I don't like using spinning reels, But I have 6-8 of them and not one issue.

I have both and like both equally. Had the CI for several years with no issues and had the President since Christmas. Caught really good fish on both.

I have two Stradic CI4's and like them but recently I bought a Daiwa Tatula on sale just to try. So far I like it also and it cost 75 dollars less on sale.

At the sports show last winter ran into 3 guys who used to work for a big name reel company and decided to go out on their own. (I have no affiliation with them), and bought 2 spinning reels and like them just as much as my stradic fluid.

    they are cadence fishing.com

I crossed Shimano off my list when they did away with the back crank switch. I can't see buying anything else but Pflueger Supreme with the magnesium frame.
    Don't worry Ma'am....
    I'm only here for the

Seriously give a piscifun Carbon X a try for a fraction of the price of a stradic or sustain. I am in the process of selling all of my sustains and stradics just to use replace them with the Carbon X.

Check out Cabela's or any on line store for that matter. I picked up 4 lews spinning reels a couple years back. They were end of the model runs and I picked them up 50 percent off. I see similar deals all the time on reels. Did the same about 10 years ago with some ultrlight daiwa bait casters from Legacy .

Good grief man! Don't you know that reel is made in China?

You might try a Piscifun Torrent Baitcasting Reel , 7.1:1< $40.

For me it's 99% on what reel balances my rod exactly at 10 o'clock. So I have various reels, as long as it's a quality reel. Balance to trumps brand. Balance equals sensitivity along with a quality rod.

When a reel has been in continuous production unchanged for over 35 years there's a good reason for it. It's ugly, has no bells and whistles, is not made with exotic metals and has a whopping 3 bearings in it. The long tapered shallow spool handles line beautifully. The drag is second to none. It's built like a tank and has legendary durability.

Basically it does everything a spinner needs to do very well and nothing more. Bare bones performance for just over $100. You could spend a day reading the reviews on them. It'll still be going long after the over engineered shelf queens are put to bed.
