I have one, i dont have anything to compare it to but it is easy to adjust and solid, not sure about putting poles on it either. Mine is not anodized but if I were to buy it again i would have it done. It is just hard to keep clean as it is

I had a Vance on a Nitro with a 135 Mercury Optimax. I thought it was a pain to adjust. I sold that boat and my new one had a Slidemaster. It was 1000 times better...easy to adjust and much more solid. Both plates were manual.

I had a Vance 6" on my Skeeter for about 10 yrs. and was there when i sold it...no issues, very good jackplate for the money.....for the manual plates, you may have to wiggle the motor or trim it down on a piece of wood to take the weight off of jp and then adjust....once you get the sweet spot, you dont need to touch it again.

Installed a Vance 6" jackplate on my Xpress last week and am well pleased with it. No problem adjusting it. Great price, quick shipping, and good quality. Would buy again.

Pretty much what couillion wrote. His method or beating it with a rubber mallot.

I personally run a Vance, and recommend it to my customers looking for a quality affordable jackplate , Power Pole sidemount brackets bolt right up no drilling required. Adjustment couldnt be easier. Good quality jackplate for the money, powdercoat is worth the extra 50.00.

This couldnt be more wrong..you will want a 6 inch on your R boat, and it will perform and handle like a different boat.
