    Foot pedal insert

    A friend of mine has an 04 ranger 519 VX, wanting to put a trolling motor foot pedal insert in, but I have heard some of them already had them built in? Is this model One of them any information will help thanks.

    I sincerely doubt it, my former 05' 519VX didn't. I had to cut the hole to install it.

    Open the front storage compartment, if one is there you will be able to tell. You have to stick you head in and look at the top of the compartment and if there is a big glassed-in box you have one. This is my 2007 188, it had it but the deck was not cut on top, being so close to the factory I dropped it off for them to cut the deck and add the trim ring unfortunately they won't do things like that anymore. Last picture is the closest I have to a before pic but you can see that it had not been cut.

    My ‘08 170VX already had one molded in and had the fiberglass filler plate over it. There was no way to tell from looking in the center hatch but it was pretty obvious by tapping on the front deck where it was. The hollow sound was unmistakable. Ranger will charge you just as much for the trim ring as an after market recessed pan so there’s no money savings but it looks pretty good once installed.
