I’m in the process of installing a couple of Garmin UHD 93sv units. I need to mount the GT54 transducer on the stern somewhere. I’ve attached a pic of what I’m looking at back there. Not a very big area down low. I do have a stern saver pad coming in the mail, but it’s looking like I’m going to have to see that thing up to fit in that area.
Is directly above the trailer bunk the best spot?

Green for location isn’t tall enough. It put the transducer all the way in the water. The top of it would end up even with the bottom of the hull.
Red location will work, but is that too close to the outboard?

I have a 198P, not the same hull but similar. I have side img and down mounted center of hull (your red location) and 2D to the side.
Works well for me !
