anyone switched from LiveScope to ActiveTarget?

Anyone made the switch and want to provide honest feedback. I’ve done plenty of googling but there’s no recent comparisons. Lots of early stuff. Is that AT gas been out a while, is anyone admitting to liking LiveScope better?

Really, they are the same tech based on the requirements of a lawsuit that I’m not getting into. There is plenty of info about it if you search. The correct selection for you comes down to what trolling motor and graphs you already have. If starting fresh with no troll preference and no units, flip a coin.

I currently have Lowrance units, but added a Garmin for LiveScope. I’m looking at possibly ordering a new boat and I’m trying to decide whether to stick to my current setup or go all-Lowrance.

Watch Ken Smith's detailed comparison on YouTube....as NoCal stated, they're essentially the same thing. Garmin has a roughly 10% wider cone, while the Lowrance is clearer.... etc. Small differences and they are very small....

From my research I think you will be happy with either. I went with Lowrance Active Target because I already had Lowrance units and they are easier to adjust and all I had to buy was Active Target and hook it up to my current unit, didn’t have to buy another unit so the money saving helped me make that decision.

    That is actually a 10% difference. ;)

Math asides, AT is sligthly better than LVS32. That was to be expected since it was launched at a later time and has more elements. I haven’t used LVS34 myself (yet) but from what I have seen so far LVS34 is now on pair with AT. In my opinion all three are so much alike that there is no reason to choose one over the other. Choose the brand which other features you preferr, those features are way more different than their live-sonar.

    It's degrees/° and not a %....there's a 2° difference....the result is the Garmin sees roughly a 10% wider area....hence a 10% difference.

I thought these were pretty good....particularly the last one. RMP's is a 3 part series, but, I only listed 1.... all 3 are worth watching.

I’ve watched all of the videos. I think I’d be satisfied with ActiveTarget, but it seems like LVS34 had it beat. I’m not sure it’s enough of a difference to affect whether or not you see/catch fish.

I was just curious if anyone had made the switch and regretted it.

We have had a lot of customers make the switch from livescope to active target......some of the feedback we have heard.
    1. I like the active target as I don't have to play with the settings much, more of a turn on and go.
    2. I like the active target better as I'm used to lowrance.
    3. I like the active target better as there is no ghost tree.
    4. I like the active target better as the imaging is clearer farther away from the boat 50'+ away.
    5. I like livescope better in the perspective mode vs. scout mode in shallow water.
    6. I like the livescope better because I like to adjust the settings everytime I go out and I can customize it.
    7. I feel like I see more with livescope than with active target and it's easier to see my bait with livescope 10-50' away (again cone angles, casting ability factor into this).

As you can see, I don't think you can go wrong with either set up. I do think the active target is slightly better than the lvs32 system, I do think active target is easier to use if you aren't used to adjusting settings.

I think a bigger toss up is the lvs34 vs. active target. lvs34 has more settings still, but I feel the lvs34 is slighter better than the active target in terms of image quality and target separation. Still can't go wrong with either system/setup.

Hehehe.....NO worries Hopper.....i do it ALL the time (sometimes I catch it, sometimes nope)....try "typing" via Swype.....then add "§μeГГ correct" (an oxymoron if there ever was one) to the mixture....😉

But even if it where %: 20% is still roughly 10%(exactly 9%) more than 18%.

Thanks! That’s good info. If people think Garmins Perspective mode is better, I’d hate to see how bad Scout Mode is. I think Perspective mode is horrible! :D

Iv'e seen a test where Scout mode was superior in deeper water. They did say it dependend on the actual angle of the mounting. So if you can tilt it a bit you might be able to bring both in a good working position depending on the depth. I can tilt mine only in one direction, so it's still a limitation. Most of the shallows I fish are full of plants anyway, so scout mode doesn't see much of anything.

I have the AT and the Garmin is much easier to find your bait. Thats a huge deal!!! If I had it to do over Id have a Garmin.
