    Trolling Motor Block

I have seen a few of the anglers use a block that they put in between the mount to raise the head of the trolling motor up for shallow water. Is there a company that makes them?

Don't they have a collar to hold them up?

That's what I usually do is adjust the collar but I have seen a couple of the anglers now just stich a 3 or 4 inch block in there and let the trolling motor down on it to keep it from churning up the bottom.

If you have a HB 360, you can only raise it so far. Hence the need for the block.

I use any old thing, even my needle nose plyers sandwiched between the rails. Just don't turn the power way up.

Would that not put the angle of thrust downward towards the bottom therefore making it worse vs. raising it up and keeping it level?

One 32 oz Gatorade bottle and one 16 oz Gatorade bottle filled with stuff foam will do for most situations.

I've always used my marker buoys with my MotorGuides. That wedge thing looks pretty nice.

Watched Fred Roumbanis do that yesterday...looked like one of those Plano waterproof ammo boxes. I couldn't figure out WTF he was doing, thought he broke something, then just kept fishing

THIS^^^ And, it's adjustable. Move it toward the bow and the TM will be lowered slightly. Move it toward the stern and the TM will be raised higher.

I used to use a 20oz drink bottle that I had already emptied. Crush it to the desired thickness and reinstall the cap. From there, a slight move forward or back will fine tune.
