    Good day at Baldwin

Finally got out after 6 weeks. Had a good day at Baldwin. Caught my biggest smallie ever at 4 pounds. Had a 5 fish limit at a respectable 14 pound total. Had a buddy that never had been there before and he got in a couple as well. He kept bugging me to go to the hot water ditch and the bridge. So we did. It was packed. Luckily he agreed it wasn't what we were looking for, so we only stayed there for a few minutes and bolted. A good day fishing.

Sure. We caught most on crankbaits. Caught a couple on jigs. Most came off of the flats in about 4 feet of water. One came off a ledge at about 10 feet deep. My biggest LM came at the edge of a steep bank adjacent to a 5 foot flat. Half of them came from the south end of the lake, the other half came from the northwest end.

Water temps were about 58 at the ramp, and 48 to 53 at the south end. I can't remember what they were at the hot ditch because we didn'y stay but for a few minutes. We couldn't get a bite at the intake this time. I guess there was too much current. All 3 stacks were going most of the day.

Great report, sounds like you had a great day. I'm guessing the south end of the lake is back open to fishing? I need to get out there again, don't look like the schedule is gonna let me though.

Yeah south end is open. We spent most of our time down there. Only saw two boats down there and they were so far away that you couldn't even tell what type of boat they were. I think I will make it there one more time this winter in two weeks. Then I probably won't see it again till next fall. Hope ya get out

No pics. Nothing over 5 pounds. Although, now that I think about it, I should have taken one of that 4 pound smallie. Oh well!
