Went from a Ranger RT178 to a Vexus AVX1980, what an upgrade. Can't wait for spring!

TimetoFish Could you tell me how long your 1980 is with the tongue folded? I need to know if it will fit in my garage. Thanks in advance. I assume your jack plate is a 6in. set back.

Pick up my 2020-1980 on yesterday. Kudos to Smith Motors and Marine of Hattiesburg, MS. The wife and I took a 8 hour road trip to purchase from a stand up gentleman.

Nice lookin' ride. I like the look of the black better, but, those gunnels get mighty hot, here in FL
That is probably exactly what I will get.

I thought I had a sharp boat but I’m a little jealous of that 2180

    Great lookin' boat.
I like the way you stacked your electronics. Did Vexus do that for you, or did you install it? Whose mount is that?

Do you bass fish out of it, if so can you compare it to fishing out of bass boat?

I do indeed bass fish out of it, and it does just fine. The fact that it doesn't have a recessed foot pedal area is a sacrifice, but my workaround was ordering a freshwater terrova with the foot pedal (super low profile). It also doesn't track quite as well as a glass bass boat, but that is kind of a given with a tin boat. Finally, I wish it had any rear storage, as I often fish with someone else in my boat who brings tackle. Overall, I truly LOVE this boat and can live with all of the above, as it fits my family and I's needs.
