    Just picked up an 'old' bass boat....

    Hey guys...just picked up an old 19' 5" bassboat that is a 'Brooks'. PO said something about Brooks being somehow related or prior to Bullet brand boats. Can't find anything on Brooks....so can anyone here educate me a bit?

    Brooks Bullet were the first built. I believe.

    I always heard they where the first bullets but i never knew they built one that big i thought they where 16' and more of a vee-tri hull good looking old boat good find!

    Thank you all for the info ! It's a bit 'raw' right now and this pic was from the moment we brought it home. Will undergo a complete clean up and go thru soon. Not sure of the year (ser# is BKF19001M96G).
    Engine is 1985 mfg date Black Max 200. Has a sporty style LU. Not sure what to expect but PO updated the TM to a MinnKota Edge 70, installed a pair of Lowrance 7" units and added SeaStar hyd steering in 2017. Been sitting since...so some work to do

    Correct on the merc, but that is a CLE lower unit. The predecessor of the Sportmaster. The boat is not a Brooks Bullet. It closely resembles a Shadow but it's not a Shadow either. Brooks Bullet were 15 & 17' boats built off of old Allison molds.

    Its a shadow and some guy named brooks put his name on the side. Lets see the bottom

    Didnt the bullets back then have that goofy staggered seating?

    His seats aren’t staggered though....... Looks more like a shadow than a Bullet to me.......The V Boats closely resemble newer BULLETS, that thing has a step in the hull that Stroker obviously copied or bought the rights from Shadow.

    Had to fill a flasher hole- a dead flasher would have just looked goofy there but a tach doesnt draw any attention at all

    I’d have put another flasher in if it was me. I started using flashers in the early 80’s and grew to love them. They can tell ya a lot.

    Did Shadow make bass boats that weren't tunnel hulls? The only ones I've seen were, but that's probably only 6 or 7 in 30 plus years.
