    From that video Garmin is usable but the HB is definitely clearer in my opinion even when it was set to 70' per side as compared to the Garmin at 50'. Also he was NOT using the Mega frequency for the HB.

    Heck he's using 455 on both units......and never switched it over the higher frequency on either one....that's a bad video.....i'd like to see a vid using whatever HB has right now and the new GT56.....

    I agree with you!!!!!
    From what I've seen Garmin has really stepped up their game and look really close to HB. Would love to see more fish on the Garmin as compared to the fish I can see on my Birds.

    Ive had numerous Garmin transducers on my boat. Including the uhd models. I still prefer the gt 30 paired with gt 8 puck. I’ve compared side by side with hummingbirds Mega imaging and it’s right there. It might have a tad less clarity but it performs better past 70 ft. Like most transducers. When u have them set to high hz. You lose too much distance...blacks out. Most Garmin pros still run the gt30 vs the 54. The new 34 is a better option for over the 54 when it comes to side view and how far it reaches out. Both have awesome clear view. Btw I’m running 4 ultras on may boat. Best graphs I’ve purchased yet.

    GT56? No 180 degrees of side imaging coverage! I recall someone posted a question which was caused by GT56’s beam coverage.

    GT56 Specs:
    Traditional CHIRP: 24-16;
    ClearVü 0.52 x 52 @ 1000 kHz, 0.64 x 35 @ 800 kHz, 1.1 x 52 @ 455 kHz;
    SideVü 0.52 x 52 @ 1000 kHz, 0.64 x 35 @ 800 kHz, 1.1 x 52 @ 455 kHz

    Couple shots from gt56 on a em126 ultra. I came from a humminbird helix 12 g2n, and I personally felt like it was very comparable to that unit. The new mega + units I have to imagine are still better than the garmins in imaging on graphs in this price range but the 8600 series look really darn good when pics are posted on here. I'll post a couple other pics below.... sorry they aren't screen shots.... garmin was still brand new and I hadn't figured that out yet when I took these shots.
