    Root canal and crown

How long have they lasted for you? Had one done in 2012 and today same dentist pulled same tooth. I've been in some major pain for over a week. She said they (R/C, crown) Last avg. 10 years. seems like a waste of money for the end results to be the same. Think it cost 1200.00 back in '12" Today 169.00

Going on at least 20 years for the two I have. Also have one more crown, but it didn't require a root canal.

Sometime in the 70's I grabbed 6 burgers @ MickyD's and was eating them on the run. I was chewing on the 4th burger when I bit into a bone chip. It damaged a molar on the top and bottom. Crowns for both. Around 2000 the crown came loose on the bottom, the tooth was in 3 separate pieces. Real beatch to dig each piece out

I have one that is 21 years old and it just came unglued, paid $ 90 to have it cemented with epoxy and it fell off it two weeks. I don't understand why the new high tech epoxy didn't last. I have several others about the same age and have not had a problem with any of them

From 2004-2008 I've had 13 root canals. 11 porcelain crowns and 2 ceramic crowns. No issues so far.

I was told back then oh you don't want that big hole there. Might be able to see it when you smile and it isn't good for the teeth around it. Today not a word about any of that. I just thought that with the work i had done that that tooth would last a good long time or i would of had it pulled back then. Money was hard to come by then as it is now.

Best by far to have root canals done by endodontist not by a dentist!

I had one close to 30 years now. I have heard they need to be retreated. Guess I have been lucky.

Pull it or take a trip to Table Rock. Springfield/Nixa area is home to a bunch of Cheap Dental groups who get people from all across the Midwest.

Cost $1,200 for the canal and crown, but pulling and implants run $3,000-$4,500 per. Depending on the tooth if you don’t get an implant or some sort of spacer it’s going to screw your bite and spacing up big time. Too bad your crown didn’t last longer. I’m going on 10 years for my crown. Fingers crossed! Good luck with your situation.

I had one done in 1988 and it is just fine. I told my wife to pull that gold out when I croak.
