Fixing Scratches on 2008 Stratos 176XT

    Hey all,

I have a 2008 Stratos 176XT that I bought earlier this summer. It doesn't really have any major scratches, just the typical wear-and-tear that accumulates over the course of 10 years. If I wanted to remove these, would I be able to just buff them out, or would I have to wet sand the whole boat? The hull is perfectly fine, but the gunwhale is a flat white with no flake, so any imperfections really stand out. Again, the scratches aren't deep, there are just many of them. Thank you all for your input!

I’d use the search function on here because there has been some really great threads on how to do what you’re asking and they go into great detail.

Or....you can scroll through the pages til you find them...I read them just to know more. These folks know their stuff

Info you could post a pic or two I’m sure we can walk you through the scratches. Straight gel isn’t to bad to work with.

Wet sand the areas with 1500/2000 grit and then buff with compound and polish.
