Most of the wheels I have pulled required a wheel (gear) puller. You might get lucky by loosening the nut to the point that it covers the threads on the shaft, then warping the BeJesus out of it with a BFH while you pull on the wheel with the other hand.

I had to use a puller from auto zone to pull my 285 steering wheel off.

Take the nut off and get a wheel puller.
We usually use two people. One pulling on the wheel, while the other hits the shaft. Just be sure to leave the nut on the very end of the shaft and use a socket. That way you don't mess up the threads. One or Two good hits is all it usually takes.
