Man, we have a lot of average to good size fish in Oklahoma but Id love to fish a lake where a 3 pounder wouldnt be out of the question. Most of our lakes record crappie come in around 2.8 to 3.1. I have caught several 2 plus.Originally Posted by Takeum

My wife makes Crappie tacos with a water Mellon salsa and a home made chipotle mayo that is absolutely to die for .. hungry even thinking of them !!

A few good ones from recent trips.
Pregnant perch. I target them immediately after ice out. 18-22fow hugging the bottom seems to be the depth every year. Minnows with a single splitshot about 2ft up and 6lb test. If you never have tried deep fried perch roe, you're missing out.
Summertime school stacked 5ft thick. Followed them around for over an hour. They were sitting on a sharp drop where it went from 3ft to 10ft.

I think really a catfish will eat about anything. LOL They sure are a fun suprise when crappie fishing.Always big on a photographic memory to remind me what I caught fish so I can stock those lures. With my memory shot I guess photos will have to do:
