    Old school flasher

Anyone know where to find an old school in dash flasher? I am wanting to add one to my boat.

My Lowrance 520 has a feature where you can go from at traditional 2D sonar and select the screen to have flasher. My 520 is about 10-12 years old. I have no idea about the newer units. Maybe if you post this question in the Lowwance forum someone will know the answer. My 1999 Javelin has a Zercom flasher in the dash and it still works. It not an old school flasher its a digital flasher. Only issue is the back-light for night vision is out but other than that it reads fine. I run my 520 on full map and my Zercom for depth when running around on the lake. I "think" the new units have the flasher feature so hopefully some with knowledge will chime in.

I have the flasher feature on my humminbird i think bit had to mount the ducer high so i wanted to add a flasher to read depth while i am running. My dada boat had one on it growing up and it always was very accurate at high speeds.

THIS^^^. I think Vexilar is the only company still making traditional flashers. I still have one on the front deck of my boat...it's what I first learned to use, so I'm comfortable with it.

I'm betting you can still find Lowrance 1240A's on ebay. I have one in my 95 Ranger and i kept the working one out of my 93 Stratos as a spare. Might find one in a boat salvage yard also, they were pretty bulltproof of any brand.

I will look in my box of obsolete goodies that I keep for no good reason. I know I have a 'bird in dash 60, not sure if I have the connections anymore. Free. I will check.

Lowrance made one that was I think LCF-140 or something to that number. I had two on my boat and they worked great with water temperature also. I actually still have a new one in a box somewhere. You may can find one leftover somewhere.

Ditto. If fr8dog can't find one, I probably can. It's a Lowrance or Eagle from my nitro. The transducer should be easy enough to get. I put a compass in the hole in the dashboard.

Vexilar makes a good quality product, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

I went through my box of old electronics this morning and gave 2 of them to a friend that still uses them. He was delighted. Sorry

Sorry. I can't find the cables. It's been a while. Different connections than the super 60's. I checked.
