think I should just change pitch or add a jack plate and more pitch?

Boat is currently getting worked on, which means instead of fishing I'm playing on the computer and thinking. That last part is dangerous.

I have a javelin 2001 18 with a 115. Not sure of the prop as I just got the boat a couple weeks ago. Believe it is a reneagade 23. I'm turning about 5700 rpm at wot, which is higher than what the max is supposed to be (5500 is what the specs I find suggest). Boat moves along about 50 gps (49.9) So not really sure if I should do something with the current prop, or simply get something a little bigger.

If I add a jack plate would assume I would end up with higher rpm yet?

See the problems with thinking is I start thinking of ways to spend money *lol*

First off, I'd find out for sure what prop you have. I'm surprised you're spinning a 23 that many rpms.

Either way, I would recommend a 6" manual plate for your boat. You'll see the most improvement with that size and it will be relatively inexpensive.

yeah, know I need to find out whats on it. Boat is actually at the shop, needed a some gas line fittings and they had to order it. Might be a 21 and the raker is a 20.

Detwiller vs cms any big difference between them? Probably go with a manual, would love to have hydraulic, but unless I find one used that isn't going to happen this year.
