'15 z520c coin box gas spring upgrade

I have seen the 2016s and 2017s have a gas shock like the rod lockers installed on the center coin box. I called ranger to inquire about ordering these parts for my 2015 but they were unable to tell me part numbers I would need since my serial number is a 2015 and does not have those parts currently installed. They really didn't seem to know much about the 2016/2017 config either, it was a strange call. Anyway, Can anyone tell me:

1. Will these parts fit a 2015 z520c (the newer ones or if there was an upgrade for the 2015 that I missed out on, either way)
2. a list of part numbers for the shock, attachment points and screws
3. has anyone actually done this to a 2015?

I got the gas shock and brackets from Ranger and install was easy. I'll check in my shop tomorrow, I should have the receipt with part numbers. They told me the 2016 520c parts would work in my boat and they did.

If you are going to do this upgrade I would put a piece of aluminum as a backing plate on your bottom bracket and bolt through the consul with SS machine screws. My screws pulled out on the bottom bracket on my 2015 Z118c.

I just ordered new seats with a coin box for my 2008 Z520. Do you guys think it will come with lift assist on the lid of the coin box? That is a question I did not ask when I ordered.

placed the order today, like $18.xx shipped. They were quite impressed with the level of detail with the part numbers. I also ordered the non-skid pads for the rear compartments. $21 each but they are made to order so it will delay shipping a few days. Thank you guys for the help.

Hey guys. I just ordered the above shock parts for my 2014 520c coin box. Can you tell me which side the two screw bracket gets mounted? Either on the lid or the boat? The picture looks to me like there were both 3 screw brackets attached to the shock in the picture. I don’t want anything to bind when I open and close the lid.

For anyone reading this thread, one can only do this mod on boats that have pulltrusion on the coin box lid and coin box. Even z520c as new as 2017 may or may not have this according to the Ranger parts guy I spoke to. Only way to tell is to notice a slightly raised area where the strut bracket would be on the bottom third of the lid, it's approximately 3" wide, it's very subtle and he mentioned to use a flashlight. And only way to tell on the coin box itself is to remove it and look on the underside.

If you don't have the pulltrusion, it will break the lid and coin box over time.
