Or, adjust stop on the hotfoot, raise jackplate to 3.5 and replace throttle shaft roller. 62. GPS.

Just traded a jet ski for a 1988 bass hawk 17ft with a 1976 85hp Johnson Javelin motor. I love the way it rides! I'm hoping to get some good pictures soon. Like most people, I need a new bench seat and new decals!

Bumping up this very old thread to add pics of my 17' 1987 Bass Hawk.
    I love the boat.
I bought it with a blown Johnson 140 on it and had the powerhead from a 100 hp '79 Javelin motor swapped on in place of the 140. Runs like a sewing machine.
The only real kick I have against it is the lack of storage space but that's to be expected as shallow as the hull is. It will float in super shallow water.

One pic with the Johnson cowl and one with the Javelin cowl.

Wish I still had my 1989 17ft , for its side it rode good. And ran like a crazy, but then again it should have. I had a 1987 150 Mariner on it or I though. Turned out when the engine let go 9 years later. Found out it was a 175 and not a 150. It had a 6" jack plate and set up where the pad was all that stayed in the water. No GPS back then, but out ran a lot of 200HP boats. Hit the hot foot and start trimming it up, when it started chine walking drive though it. Let that Mariner run. Even with the front livewell and back full of water and 35 lbs of bass. It still held its own.
