I know its a fair time ago, but do you remember on take off if the nose shot up in the air substantially? I have the same set up with 10 inch plate and it just seems to jump the nose up a fair way. It still plains fairly quickly.

    Thanks

Most of what I think your seeing are the Two Strokes which are faster it seems than the 175 pro xs fourstroke, if the boat is 2018 and older its a two stroke 175 pro xs.

I have a buddy that gets 64 mph with a decent load and by himself on his 2017 Z18.

The difference in speed between z18's come down to set up. Four strokes and two strokes are different ratios. Also the way you load your boat can make a 2+ mph difference. Try to balance your load and keep the heavy stuff in rear storage. Once you find the prop (best speed and close to max rpm with jack plate adjusted) have it blueprinted and balanced to get best possible performance ( once prop is B&B'd you will have to adjust your plate a bit). Also pick a prop for your needs. I like four blades bc I run a lot of small rivers and marshes and need quick holeshot and handling.

Does it really matter? If I can go 60, 62, or 68 I literally couldn't care less not sure why people obsess over such small details to begin with.. We should all start in John boats with trolling motors only and work our way up :) .. makes you appreciate anything over 20mph

Do you care if your car gets 10mpg or 20mpg? We all want to get the most out of any car, lawn mower, battery, or boat.

What kind of prop and what pitch are you running? Also, what RPM is your engine at during those runs?

Bryan I’ve got a 2013 z9 250 pro xs, I was running a 25p tempest plus best I got was 61mph at 5700rpm changed to a 25p 4 blade and got 64mph at 5500rpm then changed to a 26p tempest plus at 5750 rpm best I can get is 61/62mph. All are at 3” below pad. I’m 280 and with boat loaded and 1/2 tank of fuel. I switched to a 26 because everything I read on here majority of people were running that prop with great success. My motor is freshly serviced and everything ckd out great. I get the z9’s are heavy but I don’t get how everyone is getting the numbers there getting. Any advice??

anyone running a new 4 stroke on an older Nitro,

    I just recently repowered from a 200hp v6 2 stroke opti pro xs and installed a 200hp v8 4 stroke pro xs

looking to hear your response regarding performance, and what prop your running.
