Basstream Hydra Bass
Anyone know about or own or have owned a Hydra Bass bass boat? I bought one and replaced the carpet, added a deck extension, reupholstered the driver and passenger seats, and replaced the butt seat and rear fishing seats. I tuned the motor up, replaced the batteries. It runs "good" and fishes really good.
Just checking to see if anyone knows anything about these boats as there is not much on the internet about them other than they went out of business and were made in GA by S&J Manufacturing.
Thanks.

I have one as well, I like it a lot. Which model do you have? I have an 89 Hydrabass 17 footer. Any chance yours has the coast guard capacity sticker on it? If so could you send me a pic, mine is missing and I don't know what mine is

I have a 2000 Hydrabass 1700, 17 foot, with a 90 hp Merc on it. Mine does have the sticker on it. I'll see if I can get a picture of it and post it.

Hello, I have a 2001 Basstream 1750 with a 2001 90 Merc 2 stroke. I'm having some handling problems and was wondering if yours has a jack plate? Mine has a 8" jack plate and I'm thinking that's most of the problem. Thanks

What prop are you running Geno?

I'm not running a jack plate and my 90 is sitting flat on the top of the transom which is too low. My prop to pad is like 8.75 inches.

Yeah from what I have seen so far these boats like a PtP in the 4-2" area. I am putting my JP on Tuesday and hopefully going to the lake wed or fri.

I know this thread is old but it's only one I found on internet besides one I started at scream and fly fourm. Anyone still got thier hydrabass basstream. I have a 01 1850 with a built 225 promax,Ridgeback offshore mid, coned 1.87 lower with 7 or 8in detwiler hydraulic jack plate, i bought hull with nothing but the Interior in it , I built motor ,rigged everything, troller , got all guages and battery monitors working, sits on all aluminum trailer, i turn a 26 trophy plus worked(whole 9 yards) by croxton to 7200 or so, runs pretty good but there's definitely more to b had , im in process changing over to hydraulic steering now and thinking 2 more inches setback and prop change for more lift should do the trick. One of the pics of it shows up has a xri cowl , that was 1st motor i built for it a 200 ff ,sold it when i finished promax Attachment 563508Attachment 563509Screenshot_20241130_151851_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20241114_072126_Gallery.jpg20190112_184410.jpg

I have a 2000 Basstream Hydra Bass 1700, 17 foot with a 2000 Merc 90. It was a total piece of crap when I bought it. The previous owner let it set outside for 6-7 years completely uncovered. He did raise the trailer tongue high enough that it didn't hold water. When I was towing it home what was left of the carpet actually blew out of the boat. I completely redid the inside. I put new carpet in, added a deck extension and a foot well for the trolling motor peddle and had the seats recovered. I added new electronics and an Ultrex. There's a thread I made way back when I first got the boat that shows the carpet and deck extension I did.
So far it's been a good boat for me. My boat is rated for a 150 too.

I really can't complain about the boat , it's been a good one and I got it for a steal of a deal. I bought it on a all aluminum trailer with no motor, controls, trolling motor, and most gauges didn't work , I got it for 1000$ it had to of been garage kept , gel coat still good with very little fading, carpet decent , seats good , floor and transom solid , i put it all together and it's never failed me not 1 time so far. I think mine is rated for 150 or 175 but I can't remember last time i actually went by the rated hp. Its definitely a fast boat tho ,I was actually going thru all wiring today and cleaning it all up and getting rid of all old stuff people has added over the yrs and took out and left the wiring and trailer maintenance, always something to improve on. I've had it for 4 or 5 yrs now I guess and its in better shape now then it was when i bought it , but I'm prob gonna be selling it minus power within next yr, I want a blazer or bullet and I been patiently waiting.
