    401K Rate of Return 2015

Been a slow year for my 401K...my rate of return for 2015 was 1%.
I'm in a work plan with Fidelity and invested 100% in a retirement fund...2023.
Hope to do better in 2016, may need to diversify.

How did your work 401K do?

My account is negative for the year............Uncle Sam is a little disappointed. But I will give it hell next year and not make the same mistakes. Most of my losses were due to stupidity and carelessness. Trades I should have never done to begin with. I'm okay with losses, they will happen, but I'm not okay with carelessness and my lack of patience. Which I will fix in 2016.

my 457 ror in 2015 was -3% but i'm still at 8% lifetime ror so i'm not worried yet. i like the thought of buying cheaper right now anyhow as i have 35 years to go before i use any of it. 2011 was worse for me, but after low years mine has rebounded a great deal so far.

however if that is not a good number please let me know, i am still learning also.

Been a good year. Rate of return Y-T-D was 15.87% as of last month. Only been invested part of this month, but the return is going to be flat for December. I'm in fed TSP, so you invest in pre-defined funds with up to 3 moves a month. Been in stocks only about 50% of the time this year. Bonds and cash the rest of the time.
It's been a challenge this year to pick good entry and exit points to be in stocks. Bonds have been crap this year.

I was able to get 3% last year so feel pretty good about that.

My Fidelity rate of return was -5.8 so you beat the hell out of mine. So glad I'm rolling mine over the end of this month.

Fidelity, was in TROWE New Horizon until last September. Bailed and put it in Money Market Stable (fixed at about 2 to 3% year). Got spooked as retirement is about 18 months away and didn't want to lose any of what I had. Risk as much as you can afford to lose. My heart couldn't take he volatility plus I sleep better knowing what I have. What's that saying "Hog get slaughter, pigs get fat". Just in the last 2 weeks I would have lost about 7 %.

Mine was 7.8% in 2015. I'm on the sidelines right now and loving these big declines.
