    Re: boat ID (kxp)

Unable to tell model number but "tsb" says it was built in Mtn Home, AR in April (the d indicates month built) of 1988 and is considered an 88 model. An 89 model would have been built in June (f) or July (g) and would show 889 as last numbers...(built in 88, but considered an 89 model...)

Let me know EXACT center line length and I can tell you model...

    Re: boat ID (kxp)

For model year 1988, it could be one of 5 models of a 184, DCB, DCR, F/S, F/S T or V. Pix at this point of the deck and interior (including livewell locations) would help.

Yep that would be a late 88, early 89 model.

Yep..late 88... If it was early 89, the serial number would end in 89. What is the serial number on yours, Fred? Maybe that will help decipher the code for the model number. I think the first 2 digits after the "tsb" were the code for the model, and the next 3 digits were the number built to date.

Yep...E9 means built in May of 89. I was hoping for some sort of connection to model number, but I can't figure it out... I think it's a code in the first 2 digits.

    Re: boat ID (ChampioNman)

Thanks! At one point I know, for Champion, the 1st 2 digits were a code for the model and the next 3 were the number built to date...thus making up the hull serial number, as mentioned in the website. Too bad we can't identify the exact model from that number....It would help a lot of folks figure out which treasure they have when they get an older Champ....
