    2014 Ranger RT188

2014 Ranger RT188, 22p Laser II with 4.5hrs break-in turning 5,100rpm at 46.6mph (GPS) and 51mph on speedometer. Motor mounted in hole #2 from factory.

    ***UPDATED***

    About 50hrs on motor.
Using 21p Laser II prop (stock no mods)
    No jack plate
Trim tabs from factory (little alum. angles on bottom of hull)
5,200rpm on flat calm water with gear and passenger (45.5 mph GPS)
5,300rpm with only driver and calm water (46.5mph GPS)
5,300rpm with only driver and chop on water (47.4mph GPS)
5,400rpm with only driver and rollers (2-3ft chop/whitecaps) 48.3-50mph GPS)

Factory setup on no. 2 mounting hole

Fastest speed to date has been 51.3 mph but jumping waves doesn't count in my book as a sustainable speed. :-)

    UPDATED AGAIN....

Dealer raised motor to hole #3 due to rpm issues.
currently 5,500rpm with driver, 3/4 tank of fuel, 45.7-46mph (gps)
21p Laser II prop (factory, will be adding cup)

    FINAL UPDATE

I have reworked my Turbo1 prop to a 19.5 pitch and added significant cup to the prop. I have removed my 80lb Fortrex trolling motor (that weighs close to 80lbs) and I'm using an 80lb Fortrex which is lighter. Current average speed is 47-48 on slight chop. With good chop and cool air, I'm reaching consistent speeds up to 49mph without any blow out issues. The overall lift/ride quality is superior to my cupped Laser II prop. And the holeshot is much faster.
