Not done with break in yet but I will post up as soon as I can. I would second or third the motion to put this as a sticky at the top though!

Yes, I think it could be valuable information for current owners with setup questions and those that are looking to get into a Phoenix.

just curious...looking at the Post your numbers post on the triton page, they all seem to run 78+mph. Do you believe that? Never been a fan of them, but was surprised to read that. Guess I shouldn't be so "skeptical"

Artdevilish: GPS speed on my boat has been 77...something. Now that wasn't with me driving, it was the dealer that I bought the boat from. So, I think it comes down to the driver and the setup of the boat. I consistently hit 75, so those are the real world numbers that I post. The 78-79 numbers are possible numbers with the right driver/setup on any 225-250 motor class boat!

I've had a Triton TR 21x and they have fast hulls! The only problem for me is that, well.....you have to DRIVE them. My TR-21X did it's fair share of chime walking. I've got nothing against Tritons and i've had a few, but I don't have to DRIVE the Phoenix.

I can run 70 +mph and put my hands in my pockets and she'll run true. You might want to check out a few other threads if you doubt that! I like the stability and speed of the 920.

If I ever hit the 78-79 mph's...great. If not....great. I can run 75 all day long,,,loaded without having to correct chime.

I guess if i wanted to run faster and didn't mind the chime, i'd buy a bullet or one of the other known "fast boats". They will get you there in a hurry if that's what you're looking for!

For me, anything over that speed (70's) only ensure that you will use the 50 gallons of gas that much quicker,,,,, not that you'll catch more fish!

    Good luck and God Speed!

Guess you're right! I have never been one to tinker with anything other than jp and prop, and that has been limited. Reason I chose the 921 was my home lake gets pretty sloppy, and I would rather have the ride vs. speed.

Most of our lakes here are around that as well. I know my house sits on 1600 ft above sea level but the lakes are all right around 800-1100 ft

I do not disagree but its also true the more stickies we have the less they get looked at. I tried to put all my setup info in the owners rigs thread along w/ pics of my rig. I would encourage others to do the same. Older posts are easily edited to include new info.

You know in thinking about it this way, it makes more sense. When I am done with break in I will post some numbers.

Hit sustained 76 mph today by myself in the 921. Motor only has 11 hours on it. Wonder when that thing will loosen up? Not sure what the did to they new lower units, but great googly birds that thing rocks.
