2003 150 HPDI DRIVER, INJECTOR Assembly issues

ANyone ever had issues with this part? Took the boat in for routine maintenance and now the thing wont start!! The Driver Injector is a $1300 part! If you have come across this or heard of this issue, please, please let me know.

You mean the ECU? Cause that’s where the injector drivers are located. I think the dealer owes you one if it was running fine.

If it was running fine when you took it in and now the ECU is fried and you only wanted routine maintenance done, then I'd say your dealer maintenance man hooked something up wrong and burnt your ECU up and I'd be jumping up and down on his desk until they put me a new one in.

What does ECU stand for? Sorry Newbie here!

That is why I am trying to see if this has "gone" out on anyone else. I am not happy at all!!

ECU= Electronic Control Unit or Same as ECM=Electronic Control Module. This unit controls all the electronics on the motor from Firing Spark plugs to Timing to fuel and air injectors. It goes out the motor will not run.

On my 03 250 the driver is separate of the ECU, there are 3 computers on mine. Not sure about yours but if the driver worked when you brought it to the dealer then it's on him and I'd be screaming.

2.6L HPDI has separate injector driver as well. Not in the ECU.
Don't really hear of a whole lot of them burning up though.

Yamaha has no Diver Injectors in stock and there is a 8 week wait for one. Looking for a used on and we have a company looking at rebuilding the burnt up part. Talked to the Yamaha folks and these things just dont go out! Hoping to get up and running soon!! Thanks for the help. I will keep everyone updated on the situation. All I can say is that it sucks!!!!

Yamaha had 5 come in last week, so I was able toget one of them. The part should arrive Tuesday. The boat is at the local Yamaha dealer to make sure that is the issue. From everything I have heard these Driver Injectors dont just go out, so trying to make sure that is what happened. Will keep you updated, but thanks for asking.

Not having the boat for 4 weeks is driving me INSANE!!!! Hope to hit the water soon!

What fixed one fellows problem might not be the solution for another fellows problem, even when the symptoms are the same. Better to start a new post giving your motor model identity with a statement of the problem you are having.
