    150 ox66 question

Was with my friend and he has a Skeeter with 150 OX66 and it started fine and ran out until it got to around 4500 -5000 rpms and it would just stall out. Would start fine after that but would do that all day if we got it up that high, Motor is 2000 model. Has anyone had this problem if so please let me know, my friend has alot of tournamnets and he wants some advise. Plugs were just changed and it still does it also. Fule pump was changed last NOV. Thanks

    Re: 150 ox66 question (sukisuki007)

Sounds like a classic clogged VST filter. The filter gets clogged when crud in the VST tank gets sucked onto the screen from the fuel flow. This causes the motor to stall. When the fuel flow stops, the crud falls off the screen, back to the bottom of the VST tank until it gets sucked up again and again and again. Hence the constant stalling and then starting right back up.

I'd check the VST filter screen and clean any crud out of the VST tank. It's the silver, piano looking tank on the left side of the motor near the 3 fuel pumps.

Next thing I'd check if it isn't the VST, are the 3 fuel pumps.
