I got a new 7D.....Im a Canonofile

Well ,...it happened went on Friday & bought my 7D, couldnt get a body only they only had em with Kit lenses, ...although they had a Canon 100/400 f4 L lens which I wanted to buy but they wouldnt part it or swap it from the 5d body ???wtf ??

I went to a local Air Museum on Saturday, a mate lent me his 300f4 L lens ....WOW ...

Man the focusing on this 7D is unreal !!, snappy & what a great lens nice n sharp!!

Awesome. If like me you'll want to play around with the focus squares. The Spitfire was hand held at 300mm?? This is the exif data I pulled;

Hand held at 300 , isnt that what it says ??

I used to handhold my Sony 100 with a Tamron 200/400 out to 400 all the time for Karts , panning down to between 90th/120th sec...

...actually it reads 300mm...doesnt read if it was mounted to a tripod or hand shot .... Either way, panning takes some effort. As you know, you can't stop the swing or your image becomes blurred or missed entirely .... cool captures. I would be interested in seeing more of the planes if you could post a few.

All hand held my man......

For years i raced karts & could never get anyone to shoot a decent pic, so I started shooting with my 7Xi Minolta SLR on film ( now I shudder thinking of the cost...)
Shooting Karts taught me to pan steady....smoothly...smoothly
