    An actual boating question

I'm gonna ask in the blazer and prop forums too. Anyway, here goes:

Let's say you are doing around 4000 rpms and you punch it. Does your bow get pushed down or up? Mine gets pushed down. I'm trying to figure out if I need more cup or what. Also, has anyone run dual pvs holes on a tempest plus or will that be overdoing it? The reason I'm asking is my txp 4 blade is pretty dinged up and I've been using my tempest.

If the set up is just right, it will dip the bow when you gas on it. If the bow comes back up pretty soon, all is good. Sometimes you might have to add a little trim to get it done.

Yeah it comes back up. I been wondering if other peoples props bite enough to fly the bow instantly.

mine does that too Jeff, main thing is you get your lift back when you at WOT and trimmed up.

Heck yeah! I had my boat 2 years before I figured that out. I never really thought about losing that quality to gain another.

While we are talking about this subject, if you start to get the bow making a slow circle, you are 1/8 inch too high on the JP and very close to doing the bat turn. We all talk about how high to run the mota, not much about being way too high.

Speaking of that, my props won't hold the bow high enough when I run them high on my jackplate. Would more cup help? And how do you know if you have too much cup?

Yes it would but you can only go so high with the propshaft ona 210 before its overkill unless you have the HP and prop to do it.

You send it to Mark with a description of whats happening. Tip cup holds the bow up, cup towards the hub raises the stern. You can over cup a prop, ask me how I know.

Would it have something to do with the bow making a slow circle?

Re: An actual boating question (jeff210)

Yep, though I knew more than Mark, he built what I asked for, was scary. The entire boat was out of the water, front and back. Not enough boat in the water to turn, motor would turn, boat went straight. Until something grabbed then all hell broke loose. Was a brand new 29 T1, with prop work and cost of prop, nearly a 1000.00 bucks worth of crap. Mark fixed it, running it now. Learned my lesson.
