    Question on pulse limiter fitting

95 John 225, was going thru parts to clean up and pulled my pulse limiter out to make sure it was clean and free from any carbon. Per service manual it is to be a check valve but when I blow through it it does not seem to be a "check valve" it is free flowing in both directions. Is this correct?

    Thx Bill

Re: Question on pulse limiter fitting (wyfapres)

Yes, it should be free-flowing in both directions.

The fuel pump works with crankcase pressure and vacuum pulses, so the valve needs to free-flow in both directions. It is designed to close during a spike in crankcase pressure (i.e. a back fire or severe lean sneeze). This will prevent damage to the air motor portion of the fuel pump.
