Hi there, I have a 1995 Tracker boat.
I think it is time to rewire it and change the tail-lights.
Is it easy to run new wiring? Are the wires run in the trailer chasis?
What gauge wires do I have to get?
There are no brakes so I an thinking wireing for the brakes, turn signals and ground.
I am not handy but want to do this!
You can buy a complete harness or just the wire that is molded together that is properly color coded and the right gauge. Pay close attention to the ground on the tongue of the trailer and at the brake/taillights that connects to the frame. Wiring is usually run inside the frame when possible. You can cut the old wire at the front, then use it to pull the new wires in.
You'll need a method to splice wires to run to any marker lights and the license plate light if it isn't part of the taillight assembly. Don't just twist and tape them. Soldering and heat shrink tubing is best.
Go with LEDs for the taillights if your budget allows. You'll never have to change a bulb again.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
nothing else matters.
