Fished Yatesville this past Saturday. Did not cath any keepers, but caught a lot of under fish on a bandit 200 crank and 1 on a jig. Did here of 1 guy catch 3 keepers on a jig early.
Terry, are there smallies in yatesville?
I have not seen any, but I do not fish it regularly. All I know is there are some hog Largemouth in the lake.![]()
Fished Yatesville on Saturday morning and all I can say is COLD. Water temp was 47.5 to 50 degrees. We only managed 1 under fish. Our club tournament was won with 1 16inch fish. Not many boats, I think the cold weather scared them away. But it was nice just to be out.
Wow, that is some cold water. Pretty soon things will be just right for Hog-Hunting![]()
The water temp was warm compared to the air temp. Air temp was 25 degrees and we had ice building up on our line and reel as we were fishing. I had to break the ice about every 5 minutes or so from the reel. I had brain freeze running down the lake with my head covered up. Coldest I have ever fished. Ohh, by the way I get to do the same thing this weekend on Sunday for our KBF tournament at Yatesville.
anybody been there and know how the fishing is.got a couple of days off next week and thinking of going there.thanks
here is the last report, it's brief.

we fished yatesville on wednesday, 4/2. Water temp avg was 52 to 54, lake was murky, we caught (rather my partner) caught 5 fish, 4 were under 13 inches, had one about 17 inches. All were caught on a pumpkin seed color 7 inch power worm. All caught out of one creek in heavy timber. Tried crank baits and spinner baits, no bites on them.
