I went up a couple of weeks ago caught bass on wind blown secondary points close to deep water in the fishing creek area. Haven't heard of anything lately.
I am planning a few days up at the hill soon. I will be fishing the Bussy Point area and up river from there some maybe. If anyone has some suggestions or finds a real hot bite, please let me know. Thanks.
im from augusta and live there on the lake. its a tough lake at times. Early morning topwater is great and dd22s and the evenings t-rigs and jigs and sometimes dd22s. ive got news for all yall the lake is supposed to drop another 4 feet by september.
please pray for rain its already 10 feet below thanks to our great core of engineers
OK guys - time for some up to date fishing reports from the Hill!! Tell us what is going on. Giving a report doesn't mean giving GPS locations. Just some general info to help someone that was headed out for a good day of fishing.
I was at the hill on the 12 th and 13 th had a front come through . Started catching buck bass in back of small pockets . Couldn't get on any big females . Could catch a limit of bucks quick. Caught them on Carolina rig ( with a trick worm) , fluke , and one on a spinner bait.
Fishing is great right now, fish are schooling up on wind blown shallow shallow tapering points mostly near big water, BLOW THROUGH fishing is starting to kick in, you definitely need wind.. it also seems wind that blows directly into a point is better than wind blowing across, exception blow throughs anyhow it's working for me, no secret lures right now except zoom flukes.. i'm the only one using them LOL!! lot of Alabama rigs being used, the bite has been better mid day due to full moon just going out,, top water coming around on gunfish an spooks but not good as it's going to get..local are non local fisherman for good advise I stop at the Tackle Shop on Columbia rd there is always good fisherman with current tip's that will help you out in there an all the lures that are working at the time
Here's a link to Day 3 of the Fishers of Men National Championship from this past weekend...

This appears to be a dead thread? Was another 1 started for the Hill?
Nope just dead
took 26 to win the kicks 99 open on Saturday .... not sure what it took for the BFL???
Any word on how they were catching them .
Schooling fish
Yup sounds about right. I will be up next weekend see what i can do with them
Fished the lake Friday and Saturday . Picked fish up on submerged grass and weeds using rattle traps and shad raps in the mornings , used senkos on lay downs in coves later in the day to pick up some bass , first light on main points using top water baits and blow throughs also shad raps there also. I heard from a guy in the afternoon he was using spinner baits working grass to pick up decent sized bass.

heading out of Parksville Tuesday morning and will report back... 2 weeks ago I caught some on topwater schooling, on rattle trap and a booya spin rig with crankbait in about 8 feet at mouths of creek..
fun day today - caught 3 small largemouth, 1 on topwater and 2 on square bill burning across shoals/flats... had the most fun catching stripers this AM while walking the dog, caught 8 and they don't play around, 3lbs and pulling drag... All in all a fun day, couldn't figure out the bass again, I know they running the herring up on these flats 'cause they were busting topwater at 2 in the afternoon.. Saw some cruisers in the shallows that I couldn't get to nibble and lots and lots of gar, huge nasty gar...
