Looking to buy a boat, came across a 1996 Stratos, with a 200HP Evinrude Vindicator. Anyone know anything about these motors? Pros and cons? Appreciate any and all help. Thanks guys.

Good engines. I believe that year engine, I'm not exactly sure what years do, they suggest to have the #2 cylinders carb go two size bigger on the main jet and also have the float bowl with the upgraded nipple? The reason is the 2 sizle larger jet keeps that cyl cool so she won't burn and the upgraded nipples don't back out? Once again I'm not exactly sure but I think you can look it up...I'll do a search as well....OK I found a post..here it is http://www.bbcboards.net...08729
It might even have those things doen to it. As always have the engine checked out by a mechanic to make sure she is good to go for you.
