    Carpet trim problems

I just had the carpet trim replaced on my boat (2023 z520r) for the 2nd time, and the adhesive had already let go before I got to the dealer to pick it up. The dealer did a good on it, installing it properly, and even used an activator this time with the new trim. I can literally pick it right up off the boat wherever I grab it. Seeing other boats like triton and caymus doing the same thing. Seems like a trim issue, which has been going on for years, would be rectified by now. Anyone else having issues?

Mine is doing same. Ranger denied my warranty claim stating it is outside the one year cosmetic warranty period. I figured when it gets bad enough I can't stand it I'll research a superior product. My boat is also a 2023 520r

The only area I've had an issue with it is around hard turns. Mine wasn't sticking all the way around the turn by the port rod box/passenger console area. I got some high quality super glue then put a bunch of heavy weights on it, let it sit for a few days and I've had zero issues with it since.

I currently am on the 3rd complete set of carpet trim, and you can lift it off the boat anywhere you choose. I think something is wrong with the adhesive on the trim... Its not a Ranger problem, all boats are doing it.

Are we talking about the black vinyl trim that runs around the inside edge of the gunnel? I've got an '08 170VX and after many years it almost seemed like the stuff shrunk and pulled away from the edges. I found the exact stuff on Amazon and replaced it myself. Just used the adhesive that was on the strip as well as the activator and some 3M adhesive spray. The new trim has been on the boat for about 6 years with no issues.
