    Livewell pump size

Hoping someone on here can help keep me from yanking all my batteries and crap out. I’m needing to replace all 4 livewell pumps on my 2003 201 pro xl. Does anyone know what size pumps they are? Also, my flowrite valves need replacing. I’ve got the system 3 but not sure if it’s barbed or qwick lok. Anyone know if certain types came standard?
    Thanks!

I have a 2004 Stratos and I believe all of the pumps are Rule 500 GPM with 3/4" hoses. I have never changed any of mine so not sure about barbed of quick loc. My bet would be barbed.

I had 500 GPH in mine. Replaced with new 800's. More than likely the valve will not be quick-lok, as I not sure those were even made back then. Look at the hose connection to the valve. There's a noticeable difference in the two. Shove your phone down there and see if you can get a decent pic of it.

I also have 500 gph Rule livewell pumps in my 2004 295, with 3/4" hoses and barbed Flowrite System 3 valves. I'd bet that's what you have also unless it's been previously replaced.

I don't know how large you can go on livewell pumps before you risk overwhelming the overflow drains and spilling over the top. I'm sure 500 gph is OK, I suspect 800 gph might be OK but I'm not sure.

When you place the parts order from Flowrite, be sure to get a handfull of the 3/4" hose clamps. I broke a couple during installation and was glad I had some extras. Extra hose was good too, as once I got in there I found several kinked hoses I decided to replace but had not previously planned on replacing. By far the most difficult part (as you suggest) is pulling all the batteries, the battery support plates, and getting access.

My buddy just replaced his pumps, 2001 21 SS extreme and used 500's on the livewells and upgraded the bilge pumps to 1000s. You can overload the livewell pumps by going to big. Bilge the bigger the better for emergencies, IMO.
