Garmin and Lowrance shipping now. Ultrex Quest is modeled and hope to test in March and ship in April. Gauging demand on older Ultrex and PP Move. PP Move looks likely but will be this summer.

I would think more boats have original Ultrex than any other TM.

Not on the west coast at least. About 5 years ago that was clearly the case, but since the Ghost and others with brushless motors have come out I doubt it would be a good investment to make a model for the Ultrex until all other current models are made. But I could be wrong...

When I started this, I had assumed that the potential market would be 50/23/23/4 (Minn Kota, Lowrance, Garmin, PP). It shaping up to be more like 65, 15, 15, 5. Keep in mind that for this product, the demand will not necessarily match the market. There are a lot more Ultrex units in the field than Quests, but to date 80% of the Minn Kota requests I have received have been for Quest units.

One challenge I have is that my system is made to fit a specific trolling motor. I am not sure yet how, or if, I want to deal with creating upgrade paths from one motor to another. I am leaning toward not as a majority of the parts on the trolling motor will have to be replaced. This plays into my thinking on Utrex units as there will be a number of people migrating to the Quest soon.

Either way, I am committed to making sure that the all units stay current and future add-ons (significant) will be backwards compatible - with the exception of needing a new wiring Junction Block which will require new connections.
