Can you mount lithium batteries on their side?

Title says it all. Also, how much air circulation do they need? I have a perfect location in a storage bin under the bench seat in my boat

Sweet. Mine don’t even get warm. Do they really need ample air flow?

The only way they would need any airflow is if you were maxing them out for what little bit of cooling it would add. So doubtful if at all. I would not mount them upsidedown just because most of the BMS's are on the top of the batterys in the case, not saying it would harm them but I would not take that chance. Would make connections a pain also. CJ

Does it ever get over 100F in Rome in the summer? I think you should allow for air circulation no matter the orientation of the battery. JMO Bob

I've seen kayak folks mount them on their sides because of space constrictions.
