“North” icon on upper right hand corner of HDS12 Pro

Is it possible to move this icon on the screen so it is not covered up by the “menu” tab? I can’t find anything in the data overlay to do it…. Don’t want the compass under autopilot.

On your screen displaying the AT, go to MENU on the right side of the screen to find how you can move it. It is NOT part of the overlay data so don't go that route.

Are you talking about the direction-icon when using live-sonar like Active Target, or the compass-rose while navigating or using autopilot? A screenshot would be helful.

Assuming he’s talking about the N up when navigating on the mapping screen, is there a way to move the N to another location or temporarily hide the menu tab?

You can turn the compass off under pages, setting, Network/autopilot

Thanks but I’m not asking about autopilot, just asking about the North indicator that’s behind the menu tab in the upper right hand corner on the map screen. It’s really hard to see which way is north as it’s semi concealed under the menu selection tab.

I'd like to move it to the other side so that the word "menu" doesn't cover it up

Ah! Thanks guys! You know how to do screenshot and another does a better job explaining the question!! That’s the “N” on the mapping screen that I would like to move from the upper right hand corner….to get it out from under the “Menu” tab like Skeeter Man is asking. Thanks to all for your patience!

If it’s possible to move that, I have never seen a menu command.

Not possible to change that Arrow Do you have the map set to North Up? Or Course up? Do you have a point 1 on your boat?

No, that icon can not be moved. (And yes, it is placed in a rather unpractical spot.)

If anyone from Lowrance is reading this, the user should be allowed to move that icon so it can be seen. Thanks.

All these years I dont remember ever seeing that arrow. I just went out and checked and sure enough, it is there whether N up, course up, heading up. Dang thing must have always been blocked by the menu key when I always use N up...lol. Of coarse now, I will see it every time. Thanks

How does the Point 1 arrow show which way is North? I’m on lake now that covers 730 square miles. Several areas there’s no way to see to a landmark. Knowing which way is North is important to me but I guess I’m old school.

They have these items called Waypoints Set one when you leave the doc and call it up when you want to go back he Go to. that is 20 yr old school following the North Star is ancient school Or just follow your trail back that you mad getting out somewhere there is more than one way to do this without complaining about something nobody cares about. if you set your map orientation to North Up then your Point 1 arrow always points north
