I have a 19xl prostar. It has a 200merc on it now. I can get a Mariner 225hp for a good deal. Would that be too much weight with the 225 on it? I do not fish tournaments

200-225-250-300 all the same engine mostly and weight--likely not rated above 200hp but no issues with the weight efi engine?

it is rated for a 200hp but the deal for the 225hp is a great price. I will probably stay with a 200hp or even a 150hp. Really it is my dads boat but he is giving it to me.Originally Posted by mactlman
Yes it will work fine. Do not put a 150 or anything smaller than a 200 on it.
