LOWRANCE ACTIVE TARGET 2 FIXED GHOST IMAGE PROBLEM

I JUST INSTALLED A NEW ACTIVE TARGET 2 UNIT IN MY CHAMPION BASS BOAT . IM USING A HDS PRO 12 TO VIEW THE ACTIVE TARGET 2 ON THE BOW AND THERE IS A FIXED GHOST IMAGE ON THE SCREEN AT ALL TIMES,THE IMAGE IS IN THE UPPER PORTION OF THE SCREEN IN FORWARD VIEW .
THE TRANSDUCER IS MOUNTED ON A FISH OBSESSED MOUNT ON THE SHAFT OF MY GHOST TROLLING MOTOR. I MOVED THE MOUNT AND TRANSDUCER LOWER ON THE TROLLING MOTOR SHAFT FROM THE ORIGINAL POSITION ABOUT 1-1/2 INCHES BUT THE GHOST IMAGE IS STILL ON THE SCREEN
. MY ORIGINAL THOUGHT WAS THAT THE TRANSDUCER IS PICKING UP OR INTERFERING WITH THE TROLLING MOTOR BULLET OR HOUSING BUT WHEN RATCHATING THE TRANSDUCER HIGHER ON THE OBSESSED TRANSDUCER MOUNT ALL IT DOES IT SHOW THE FIXED IMAGE FARTHER AWAY FROM THE BOAT ON THE SCREEN .
I DO HAVE MOUNTING SPACER I COULD ADD TO THE FISH OBSESSED MOUNT TO MOVE THE TRANSDUCER AWAY FROM THE TROLLINGG MOTOR SHAFT FUTHER THAN IT IS .
I RAN ACTIVE TARGET ONE WITH NO PROBLEM ON THE FISH OBSESSED MOUNT FOR A LONG TIME, AS SOON AS I INSTALLED THE ACTIVE TARGET TWO ON THE SAME FISH OBSESSED MOUNT IT SHOWS THE GHOST IMAGE
I THINK I HAVE A BAD ACTIVE TARGET TRANSDUCER ANYBODY EVER HAD THIS PROBLEM
THE GHOST IMAGE STILL IS SHOWN WITH MY HDS 10 INCH ON THE BOW WITH THE 3IN 1 NOSECONE TANSDUCER ON THE GHOST TROLLING MOTOR TURNED OFF AND ONLY THE 12INCH HDS PRO ON FOR THE ACTICE TARGET
I THOUGHT IT MABE INTERFERENCE FROM THE NOSECONE TRANSDUCER.I STOPPED THE SIDE SCAN AND DOWSCAN SONAR ON THE HDS 10" ON THE BOW ALSO JUST RUNNING THE HDS 10 IN 2 D SONAR

    PLEASE ADVISE THANK YOU

Do you have a pic of the transducer on the TM YOu can take it with the TM on retracted on the bow. The transducer should be 7in from the top of the motor to the botom of the mount. If you can take the pic with the prop in so I can see how the transducer is mounted and pointed on the shaft. Also do you have stable view turned on in the menu for AT2? and the forward view is at the 2nd line on the transducer. There is a lot of geometry to make FFS work correctly. Do you have 23.3 v software installed on your Pros and AT2 module? what is a ghost image there are no ghost images on AT2 that term is brand g only.

I HAVE DONE THE LATEST UPDATE ON THE AT 2 ALL READY AND THE HDS 12 IS ALSO UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST SOFTWARE . THE GHOST IMAGE IS THE LARGE STREAK SHOWN ON THE SCREEN IN THE PHOTO ON THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN. WHITH THE FISH OBSESSED MOUUNT I HAVE MOVED THE POSITION OF THE TRANSDUCER TO ALL AVAILABLE POSTITIONS AND THE GHOST STREAK IS ALWAYS THERE. BUT IT JUST MOVES IT TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION ON THE HDS PRO 12 SCREEN. I HAVE RAN IT WITH THE STABLE VIEW ON AND OFF BUT THE SREAK IMAGE IS ALWAYS THERE. i RAN ACTIVE TARGET ONE WITH THIS MOUNT FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A GHOST IMAGE ON THE SCREEN . I'VE ONLY FISHED THE BOAT 3 TIMES SINCE INSTALLING ALL THE NEW MFD UNITS AND AT 2 AND LIKE I SAY THAT GHOST STREAK NEVER GOES AWAY IT IS A FIXED IMAGE ON THE SCREEN IMG_5899.jpgIMG_5900.jpgIMG_5901.jpgIMG_5902.jpg

Have you tried moving the TD up on the shaft away from the TM head?

That is not a ghost image. AT does not have ghost images as some other brands do seem to. That is either:
    1. A true signal, which indicates something blocking the transducer signal, or
    2. A defective transducer.
I would take it off the mount and hold it away from the trolling motor completely. Point it away from the boat and see if the image is still there. In this way you can determine if your installation is the issue or if it’s the transducer.

PS. Can you please turn off Caps Lock? It makes your posts very difficult to read.

I would add the spacer to get the beam further away from your motor housing, and if that doesn't fix the issue, then I would move the transducer higher on the trolling motor (around 10").

If you do as nocal suggested and the image is the same, you need to call Lowrance.

I see 2 things that are questionable otherwise looks good.

1 Your transducer is way to low to the motor best is 6 to 7 in from top of motor up the safte to bottom of the bracket around the shaft. That Image you are seeing is most likely the transducer is seeing an edge of the Motor Raising it will eliminate that.
2 I don't think you have the correct angle on your forward looking transducer on the factory is a line which is the middle line for forward on the factory bracket. Put that on top of the current bracket and look at the angle to see if it lines up. When you get these 2 things done test it and let me know and Then I can tell you an ajustment on the unit that will correct it then there will be a way to fox permanently with out the offset adjustment. Its all geometry. PM me with your info.

The problem with that spacer is if you have not measured your shaft angle deployed while on the water with the angle your boat sets you can still be off by a lot. I have a triton and all I had to do to fix the issue that was off by 8 degress back towards the transom,, put a hard rubber shim at the front of the Ghost 1/4 thick problem solved. That spacer takes it over that much in the opposite direction. Good luck

I agree with multiple posts above. Move the transducer up on the shaft (probably in the area of the hold-down strap). I just installed the same mount (FO) on for my AT2 and didn't need the standoff block as it clears the motor perfectly. Also, the bottom return looks incorrect, I bet the transducer is angled up too much. I had to keeping making adjustments on the arm and transducer to get it right. The image image showing 30-35' deep and 20-30' out is definitely an issue. Maybe try installing the factory mount at approximately 8-9" above the motor connection to the shaft. If the odd image goes away you know its a positioning thing with the positioning. You could also jack the FO mount angled way up to the the vertical distance away from the motor. There's multiple ways to troubleshoot this issue, but I agree, something is NOT right.

Marc I had the transducer up on the shaft originally when running my AT (1) for two years with no problem about two inches higher than in this photo . I installed the AT(2) on the fish obsessed mount in the same location as I ran the active target (1) and the streak appeared on the screen and will not go away . So I moved it 2 inches lower on the shaft as in the photo but the streak is still there same as it was when installed 2 inches higher
I will try the fish obsessed spacer on Saturday to see if the image goes away .
Thanks for everyone's help I appreciate the help Thank You

Have you tried taking the transducer off the shaft to see if the problem persists?
