Is your hole shot good? That's all the vent holes help with.

Depends on how good or bad your hole shot is. The purpose of the plugs is to allow the prop to vent, or to be able to spin more freely. I've never ran a prop with all of the holes plugged myself as its always been a combination of PVS plugs in different sizes. Most guys nowadays don't go down the rabbit hole like we did 15-20 years ago when setting a boat up.
My hole shot is acceptable, but I fish a lot of shallow water and the quicker the better for me. I am coming out of a flats boat that had trim tabs so I am very spoiled on hole shot.
Start by taking out two plugs and see what happens. If the prop vents too much, then add a different size plug until you get what you are looking for.
You could also start with, say a 1/8in drill bit and drill through the plugs one at a time progressively increasing the bit size until yah get close. I've read where the venting works the best if it's distributed around the barrel of the prop.
