God speaks of this very rare situation in Job and explains the reasoning why He does such a thing, which though it may seems senseless, it satisfices the living things in those regions, and it shows to the limited human minds the glorious mysteries God can accomplish even when some have said contrarywise.

It is amazing that it occurs about 50 years apart, yet the living things God has placed in this region manage to survive to regenerate when in His time allows this volume of rain to fall.

Interesting how some people need to rationalize things to fit their rejection of what God teaches us. Yes, animals as well as humans may adapt to certain seasonal and or reginal changes of weather, especially if it happens so far apart, unlike northern stated preparing for the seasonal challenges on a yearly bases. This year in NYS, we are getting the normal miserable cold and cloudy winter weather we are more accustomed to have with my area getting around 100" of snow, which according to my uncle Bruce that being short changed 300"
