I’ve caught doubles on a crankbait, lipless, and a whopper plopper. Nothing larger than 2-1/2 lbs. I joined a bass club in the late 1980’s and at the first meeting everyone was talking about the previous tournament, a night tournament on Rodman. One guy caught two over ten lbs on one cast, on a worm. The second fish had sucked the lure in and it had went through the mouth and out the bill of the front bass. His partner collaborated the story, and though I was not there, I knew the angler, and if he said that is how it happened, that is how it happened. Pretty wild though.

This wasn't 2 on the same crankbait, but.... My son hooked a good one on a crankbait, so I was reeling mine in as fast as I could so I could net his...then I hooked up. We put a 4 and a 6 in the net at the same time.
Nice way to start a tournament day!

Yes a couple of times. But my wife has the best double catch on a crankbait and she rarely fishes. She once caught a rock bass and a smallmouth in a small Bass Magnet crankbait. Never seen two species caught on the same lure at the same time.

another crazy story was when my dad hooked a 12” largemouth in Kentucky Lake and saw a 3lber swimming with it. He said, “I’m going to see if I can trade up.” I looked at him a bit crazy, but sure as heck he hooked the bigger one and had two on at the same time. Then the little one came off and he landed the 3lber. This was on a blade bait. I was impressed to say the least.

I've done it once in a farm pond. Both bass together went a little over a pound.

Red Eye Shad double largemouth twice. Shadow Rap doubles multiple times on smallies, had a triple of little smallies (like 7" long littles) on a lake in the Boundary Waters once. DT10 once. Spook has been a decent producer of doubles over the last few years.

One time, before I started perch jerking. 2 deuces, spot chasing schooled schooled shad. Bandit crank. Cool and fun! Not uncommon for sure.

Not unusual with spotted bass, they'll chase one that's been hooked to the boat trying to grab the lure.
