Old gear case from my 97 Pro V 150 was a 14 tooth pinion and 28 tooth forward and reverse gear. So 2:0 gear ratio correct? All thise gears are toast. Have a 2004 I believe f series gear case off a 200 hp that has a 15 tooth pinion and 30 tooth gears for 2:0 ratio correct? Could those gears also be used since the ratio is the same? Or does the number of teeth on the gears and pinion combo really make that big of a difference? Main concern I would have would be being too hard on the motor. Last thing I need to the motor to go kaboom!
