    Ranger Trailer tow height ?

When I bought my 2021 Z185, the book said for the tow height to be 20"-22" from top of swing tongue to ground. Which i had it at 20". I have been watching Ytube and all say's to have a level trailing for towing, I'm at 16" to top of tongue to be level. I'm towing with an 2015 Silverado 1500. When I hook up my boat it drops the back of truck 2". What is the correct setup for towing a single axle trailer?

    Thanks
    Rick

Single axle is easy, it gets the same load even if the ball is high or low by a couple inches. As long as it looks level when hooked up you are fine.

Level the trailer unhooked, then measure from ground to the top of the hitch. Whatever that measurement is, that's what you want the top of the ball on the tow vehicle to be. Depending on your suspension, a drop of 1-2" or less when the weight of the trailer is added, is ok.

Measure the distance from the ground to the top of the inside of your hitch receiver (A), and subtract it from the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler (B). B minus A equals C, the drop.
