Serivice my 2012 250 SHO when use is very low.

Ive got this motor on a Z522 Ranger bass Boat.
    1. Last time service July 2021
    2. Synthetic Yamaha oil changed
    3. Lower Unit oil changed
    4. Spark plugs changed
    5. New water pump(old was still working)
    6. Motor always had ethanol free gas in it.

Motor had about 325 hours during this change

    Last two years trips.

2021- 2 - 3 night fishing trip. Burned about 21 Gals each trip
1- 1 Trip to day fish at Pickwick burned less than 20 Gals

2022 1 -2 night night fishing trip Burned about 14 gas
1- trip to Pickwick 12 gals

2023 1- 2 night night fishing trip Burned about 10 gals
1- day trip to Pickwick burned about 14 gats.

Motor still has less than 375 hours on it

This years trips will be equal or less than the last three

Can I get by with a service in spring of 2025

I would roll with it. However, I would check oil and oil condition, pull lower gear case drain screw and check for water and excess metal on magnet. Also keep an eye on your water pressure gauge. I personally change my water pump every 3 years and I live in the north so I only put on 80-100 hours a year.

12 years on a timing belt would scare me. Mine is a 2014 and I did the timing belt last fall (less hours than yours). Timing belts with age on any zero clearance engine is a risk.

Kind of like tires in good shape but aged blowing out.

Oil is cheap. Just getting combustion deposits out of a crankcase before storage is worth a service to me. As was said, a timing belt is cheap compared to the damage they.can cause when they fail. Hopefully they are not made in China! Cj

I'll add, the timing is pretty easy to replace if you're mechanically inclined.
