What you think your lure is doing, what it actually is doing.

Saw this. Found it interesting. Covers basic retrieves, shows what is actually happening underwater. I found that my mental picture of what was going on was pretty different from what was actually going on.

That's a good video. Thanks for posting. It seems to make a decent argument for shorter rods and slower gear ratios. I have found that Active Target has also really helped me understand what my lure is doing under the water.

His videos have popped up for me, I like this guys videos. In a world of people trying to stretch a 5 minute video into a 30 minute video its refreshing seeing videos that get to the point and have some science behind them.

Learned this many years ago casting into an above ground pool. I also watched a big bass hunter in California stitch his line with his hand.....on a video years ago. I do that a lot with a tough bite.

That was a very good/informative video. Not a lot of bs fluff and just straight to the point. The Split View was great to see. Made me realize why when I’m fishing a jig side by side against my cousin, he out fishes me usually 1.5:1. We slow reel them for smallies and I’m usually reeling tip up, he’s tip down.

Learned more in that six minutes than I have in my entire life.

Now if I can only remember to apply it.

is this the technique? Fly fishermen have been fishing a nymph this way a long time.

I've watched quite a few of his vids - here's an interesting one he did on Bass vision and colors... Spoiler, pretty much everything morphs into one of 3 main colors - white-ish, brown-ish, and green-ish :).
