    TILT TRIM

    Honda 90HP

    Anyone here a Honda Tech?

My tilt trim randomly acts like I have a dead battery. It moves very slow and trim motor sounds very slow. It seams like the first tilt of the day is when things are the worst then it gets better the more you use it but it's never perfect.

Battery is good. Battery cables are good. Tilt tube is not frozen. It always starts up strong.

    Thinking a dying tilt relay?

Most likely a failing trim motor. Pull the trim motor off and see if it's full of oil.

    Thanks for the reply.

The tilt trim relay wasn't my issue and that was a heck of a job swapping it out.....but I learned a lot. I have a used one for sale now...lol.

If the tilt trim motor is full of red transmission oil, would it even operate?

I did not remove the tilt trim motor yet.

This is not spam or scam but a video of a Honda 90 that's doing exactly what mine is doing. This explains it all. What do you think?
