    Bunk board hardware question

I will be using 3/8 X 1 1/2 lag screws to secure my new bunks to the brackets. My question is, would lock washers between the head and bracket help prevent the screws from eventually loosening up? Im guessing not but thought it was worth asking. TIA

When we have done completed bunks for the MnDNR for Gatorbak’s we predrilled the pilot holes and used a waterproof silicone sealant like PL400 on the threads, the wet boards will shrink after drying

Use flat washers…..pressure treated lumber & lock washers are a poor combination. I tried silicone on my last set of bunks but ended up using a sima construction sealant when a couple lag bolts loosened. I probably over tightened them…..my mistake.
